Here are some samples of 3 Presets and 4 Presets for soccer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Use Assist Mode to record soccer.  Tap Mode at the top of the screen or press the (M) button on the remote to switch between modes.
  2. You can buy a 12 ft. tripod here or a 16 ft. tripod here.  Be sure your tripod has a 1/4-20" camera thread at the top.  Eye level video does not look as professional for recruiters.
  3. Use a Bluetooth headset like Apple AirPods.  This will allow you to hear where the camera is pointed as you move between presets.  For example if you move from 1 (left goal) to 2 (mid-field) to 3 (right goal) you will hear the app say "2" then "3" and you will know where the camera is pointed without needing to see your phone screen or look up at the camera.  You will also hear when a highlight is saved, when you are recording, what pan speed you changed it to, and if you are running low on battery for the Scout Bot or your Phone.
  4. Tap Presets on the screen to change the number of presets between 2-5.  Tap the down arrow to open Edit Presets or double tap the (M) button on the remote.  Look through your phone at eye level and set up presets from left to right.  To save a preset, tap save on your phone or press the (+) button on the remote.
  5. Over lap the presets as shown below depending on the number of presets you use.3 Presets Soccer4 Presets Soccer
  6. Record a quick clip of all your presets and drop down tripod to check it.  Once you get the hang of it, you should only need to do this once per game.
  7. Once you have the shot you want raise the tripod again.  Do not move the tripod from the location where you saved the presets.  If you need to move the tripod during the game or to another field, then you will need save the presets again.  The presets are only good based on the location you set them at.
  8. Don't forget to hit record before you raise the tripod, hit the (=) button on the remote to record or tap your the record button on your phone.  If you think you forgot to record you can hit the (=) while the Scout Bot is in the air and you will hear the app say "recording" if you are wearing a headset.  You cannot stop the recording from the remote, so do not worry about accidently doing that.
  9. Change the speed of the pan if you think it is too slow/fast by pressing the (<<) button to reduce the speed and the (>>) button to increase the speed.  Watch the phone for a few minutes as you film the game to make sure it is moving fast enough to keep up with play.
  10. Hit the (+) to save highlights as they happen.  You can change the highlight length in the settings to 10, 15, 30, 45, or 60 secs.
  11. Drop down the tripod and select the stop recording button to stop the video and select Yes. You can only stop a recording from the phone screen with your finger.  Wait for all your highlights and long video to process to your Files app.  If you had 10 highlights, the message will say Processing 1 of 11, because you also have the long video too for a total of 11 videos.
